For John B

“Incline Thine ear, O Lord, and answer me; for I am afflicted and needy. Do preserve my soul, for I am a godly man; O Thou my God, save Thy servant who trusts in Thee. Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to Thee I cry all day long. Make glad the soul of Thy servant, for to Thee, O Lord, I lift up my soul. For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon Thee. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and give heed to the voice of my supplications!” Psalm 86:1-6

I was newly arrived in Australia and had made a fast and enduring friend with a gentleman named, John B. He introduced me to lorikeets in huge flocks, sharing a taxi with a stranger, Telecom, lamingtons, Operation World and pumpkin soup. He was a lay preacher who loved the Lord. One evening he took me to his church to hear him preach on Romans 8:29-30 (but not about predestination, he explained). This passage in Psalms was what the Lord put on my heart as he spoke. John is still a friend. Isn’t God wonderful!

A friend loves at all times,” Proverbs 17:17

Run to God's Word. Take care. Your servant & friend in Christ, Darlene

PS: Please pray for David and Adrian and their health problems.
