Can We?

“For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness, for the Lord God is a sun and Shield; the Lord gives grace and glory; no good thing does Hi withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in Thee!” Psalm 84:9-12

Trust is a big concept for most of us. The word means to have a belief, confidence, reliance on the truth, goodness, character, power, ability, etc., of someone or something. One of my best lifetime friends, Adrian Stokes has a favourite verse in Scripture about this. It is:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Yet this verse goes on because like every promise there is a condition:

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil, it will be healing to your body, and refreshment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:7=8

Can we trust Him?

Run to God's Word. Take care. Your servant & friend in Christ, Darlene

Yes.

(closes his eyes)

Fear. Its not that you have to have it, or that its "negative".
Its just that we aren't really built differently than we were 50,000 years ago, hm? or 5,000 years ago?

So. The old wisdom applies.
Lets face it. Seriously.

When I surfed big waves, I remember rory russell telling me
in my mind.. "you have to get off on the fear"

yes. this is true. this kind of trust is blind, in some sense.

philips 4 thirteen for i can do anything.

Thank you for the reminder. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Yet with that fear comes the knowledge of His amazing & everlasting love! Neat!!
