Circumcision of the Heart

By Begin in the Word (5 min 40 sec)

“Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his dwelling places; and the city will be rebuilt on its ruin, and the palace will stand on its rightful place.

“’From them will proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who celebrate; and I will multiply them, and they will not be diminished; I will also honour them, and they will not be insignificant.  Their children also will be as formerly, and their congregation shall be established before Me; and I will punish all their oppressors.

“’Their leader shall be one of them and their ruler shall come forth from their midst; and I will bring him near, and he shall approach Me; for who would dare to risk his life to approach Me?’ declares the Lord.  You shall be My people, and I will be your God.’” Jeremiah 30:18-22

God’s ‘Chosen People’ have a history of abuse, loss and mistreatment at the hands of other nations.  In modern times, we all know the horror of the Nazi movement to obliterate every Jew from the face of the earth or at least Germany.

You have to wonder why sometimes.  Perhaps, it is because God CHOOSE the Israelites (as he chose Jacob over Esau).  Most see this as completely unfair!  And man’s nature has the evil intent to ‘balance the scales’ in their favour’.

Romans 9 reminds us that God is sovereign, and in His sovereignty, He is never unfair but wise and all seeing – always right.  His ways and purposes are higher than we can understand.

It is man who cannot see the Truth.  God’s chosen people today are those who choose to admit their sin and evil ways and accept the gracious gift of Jesus Christ to take their sin burden and give us a new life and a future. (Romans 2:17-29).

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you daily)

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS

·      URGENT - MOROCCO EARTHQUAKE - a once-in-a-century, 6.8 magnitude earthquake has hit this country.  Currently, estimates are over 2,200 individuals have died – thousands are injured and lost.  Please pray for the rescue workers, the medical teams and those supporting those working to save those still buried.

·      ThanksgivingJudith - devoted wife of Isaias Catorce, and co-labourer with Ambassadors for Christ Philippines, in full-time ministry, training up new labourers in the fields for harvest).  She has just undergone her fourth major surgery.  This time for a partial mastectomy.  The tests have confirmed the cancer has not spread.  I’ve seen the harvest from their tireless work and ask you to consider sending a small gift during this time of deep need for these huge hospital bills.  Go to www.tms-global.org and select the ‘Give’ option at the top of the page.  Select ‘Give to a Worker.’  Type the amount of the gift and the code 6028 (which equals ‘Catorce’), then follow the simple directions.

·      Thanksgiving - Jill – came through her surgery well.  Thank you for praying.  Please pray everything goes smoothly as she heals.  Continue to pray for Peter her husband wisdom in his supportive care and that those who love her, will rally to support her.

·      Thanksgiving - David – had a ‘loop’ installed to monitor his heart and found a way to treat some difficult symptoms with new meds rather than needing a pacemaker.  Pray for his patience and thanksgiving, continued wisdom for his health carers, and for Heidi, his daughter to be strong and healthy.  She is David’s sole carer.

Pray for those in full-time service

Pray the Lord upholds our Christian leaders – that they never compromise God’s Word and remain bold and courageous in the face of evil.  Pray for their wisdom, safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.
