"Those
Who Wait on the LORD" (Esther Mui)
“The Lord reigns. He
is clothed with majesty. The Lord has
clothed and girded Himself with strength; indeed, the world is firmly
established, it will not be moved. Thy
throne is established from of old; Thou art from everlasting.
“The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have
lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their pounding waves. More than the sounds of many waters, than the
mighty breakers of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty. Thy testimonies are fully confirmed; Holiness
befits Thy house, O Lord, forevermore.” Psalm 93
OPINION TWO - Maybe God thinks life is unfair,
too. And perhaps the real problem is
that God is powerless to change things. Several
years ago, there was a book everyone was reading, recommending and quoting: When Bad Things Happen to Good People,
by Rabbi Harold Kushner.
The title alone ensured copies flew off the shelves -- as if
it promised the secret to making millions while you sleep at night! Just two little quotes tell it all: “… even God has a hard time keeping chaos in
check,’ and that God is ‘a God of justice and not of power.”
Since the Garden of Eden and Cain slaying Abel, people have
been wondering why God doesn’t just fix all the stuff that is broken … His plan
works despite and through the times we think we battled alone. Our realisation of this is better in
hindsight, however.
Take care, your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene (who
prays for you each morning.)
