“But also
some women among us amazed us. When they
were at the tomb early in the morning, and did not find His body, they came
saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that He was
alive. And some of those who were with
us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but
Him they did not see.’
“And He
said to them, ‘O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the
prophets have spoken! Was it not
necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?’ And Beginning with Moses and with all the
prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the
Scriptures.” Luke 24:22-27
Have you ever been reading the
Bible or listening to a sermon and suddenly you had a new insight about the
words? Perhaps just one word had an
entirely new application! We’ve all had
this happen and this is the work of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s
life.
Here we read about these
discouraged disciples and how they simply gave up and were walking away from
the Truth because it really didn’t make sense that their Messiah was crucified
and died. The Truth is sometimes difficult
to fathom when what we see or are experiencing doesn’t seem to make sense. But God is managing every minute detail for
our good and His glory!
Take care with love, especially
His! Your servant and friend in Christ,
who still prays for you each morning.
