The Truth Sandwich

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.  But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God.  And your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.” Isaiah59:1-2

“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” I John 1:8-10

God knows the first step in growing closer to Him is admitting our sin – not wallowing in it-- but acknowledging it and repenting.  Repenting means to turn away from sin and go the other way -- which is a good thing.  Often, we repent but turn back to the warm familiarity of sins we ‘understand’ and hide there.

Then we think we aren’t good enough -- that we are too bad to ‘come boldly before the throne’ or tip-toe up to the Cross and admit Jesus Christ died for our selfish desires and lack of responsibility and restraint.

But He DID.  He is right there beside you right now.  He longs to remind you that Jesus already paid it all…past, present and future…because He loves you and wants you to have a fulfilling life -- for your good and His glory.

Many of us have memorised I John 1:9, but it is verses eight and ten that are like the bread around the ‘Truth sandwich of His forgiveness’!  Now THAT is really neat!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning.  Darlene

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS
·        LATEST Update:  Sue FurbeeHusband, Sam - wants to thank everyone who prayed and donated for Sue’s procedure.  They arrived back in Columbus on 6th Dec. from Mexico.  Sue had four stem cell infusions (two on 30 Nov and two 5 Dec).  She’s quite tired.  Doctors advise it may take 3 to 4 months to see improvements.  (Sam thinks she is talking more fluently now.  She feels like she can turn her head more than before).  For more updates and if you would like to contribute, this is their GoFundMe page – (https://www.gofundme.com/sue-furbee )
·        Buddy & Susan Father, You know their needs as they travel home to the States for their first furlough in over 20 years.  Guard their health and provide travelling mercies and the kindness of Your special angels along their journey.  Bless them with the warmth and welcome that only family and real friends provide!
