Running on Empty

“At that time Jesus answered and said, ‘I praise Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou didst hide these things from the wise and intelligent and didst reveal them to babes, ‘Yes, Father, for thus it was well pleasing in Thy sight.

“’All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

“’Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.’” Matthew 11:25-30

This passage is one of my all time ‘go to passages’, probably because I tend to go off rushing and stressing often and forget Who is watching over me and Who is there to embrace me when I am feeling alone, stressed, afraid, tired, confused.  Delightfully enough it has been coming up in church recently, so I know it is time to remember the power of this promise.

Take time with these words today.  Ask the Holy Spirit to help you notice the many personal details He has placed so carefully there for you.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning.  Darlene

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS?
·        LATEST Update:  Sue FurbeeHusband, Sam - wants to thank everyone who prayed and donated for Sue’s procedure.  They arrived back in Columbus on 6th Dec. from Mexico.  Sue had four stem cell infusions (two on 30 Nov and two 5 Dec).  She’s quite tired.  Doctors advise it may take 3 to 4 months to see improvements.  (Sam thinks she is talking more fluently now.  She feels like she can turn her head more than before).  For more updates and if you would like to contribute, this is their GoFundMe page – (https://www.gofundme.com/sue-furbee )
·        Buddy & Susan Father, You know their needs as they travel home to the States for their first furlough in over 20 years.  Guard their health and provide travelling mercies and the kindness of Your special angels along their journey.  Bless them with the warmth and welcome that only family and real friends provide!
·        Sergio – lost his job and now looking again.  He has just been diagnosed with adult-onset diabetes.  Was living with his brother, but he has asked him to move out, leaving him homeless.
·        Claudio – His condition has improved once more as he continues his battle with liver cancer.  Pray for his health carers to be compassionate and wise and for Elea, his wife, that she has the extra strength and hope to hold his hand through this.
·        Sue – Thank the Lord the second eye surgery was also successful -- she can see ever so clearly now.  Thank you all for praying for her!
·        Toron – finishing his high school studies and needing strength, focus and confidence, especially with maths.
·        USA – that the Lord would demonstrate His power in an unexpected and uniting way during these times of unrest and confusion.  Help hearts settle and rest on You alone.
