Leading Sheep!

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.

"He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

"Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.

"Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."Psalm 23

"The imagery is that of the shepherd leading his sheep.  The initiative is with the shepherd, he is the one who determines the watering places and guides the flock as he thinks best.

"As our shepherd, God has committed Himself to guiding us in the way that He knows to be best for us.  God sovereignly guides our lives, so that we do indeed live out in our daily experiences all the days ordained for us."*

Then again...sheep have a tendency to not follow, to go the other way, to stop when they are to go, to go when they are supposed to stop....it happens every time a sheep gets their eyes off their Shepherd...you know what I mean!  Have a good weekend, friends and keep praying!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
