"Many are the sorrows
of the wicked; but he who trusts in the Lord, lovingkindness shall surround
him. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
you righteous ones, and shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart." Psalm
32:10
"When you pass through
the [troubled] waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will
not overflow you. When you walk through
the fire, you will not be scorched nor will the flame burn you." Isaiah
43:2
"'For the mountains
may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be
removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken.' says the Lord
who has compassion on you." Isaiah 54:10
"God's unfailing love for us is an objective fact affirmed
over and over in the Scriptures. It is
true whether we believe it or not. Out
doubts do not destroy God's love, nor does our faith create it. It originates in the very nature of God, who
is love, and it flows to us through our union with His beloved Son."
God is faithful through it all to love us and to ensure our
good prevails for His glory. There is a
song, "Move Me Closer" that speaks of Nativity figures arranged
around the Christ child and how a shepherd boy sings out to be closer to the
Lord.
That is the song for our hearts...as we move closer to our
Lord, He moves our heart to be more focused on Him and all swirling doubt and
pain seems farther away than ever before...let us all pray to be moved closer
to the Lord this week!
Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
VERY URGENT PRAYER REQUEST:
From Patti: "Just a few minutes ago I received the
following text message on my phone from Sean
M. who leads Crisis Relief International (CRI). We then spoke briefly
on the phone and I assured him that we would share this urgent prayer need with
all of our contacts.
"'We
lost the city of Queragosh (Qaraqosh). It fell to ISIS and they are beheading
children systematically. This is the city we have been smuggling food too. ISIS
has pushed back Peshmerga (Kurdish forces) and is within 10 minutes of where
our CRI team is working. Thousands more fled into the city of Erbil last night.
The UN evacuated its staff in Erbil. Our team is unmoved and will stay. Prayer
cover needed!'"
