Sin Foundations - Double Standard

"Now it was about three months later that Judah was informed, 'Your daughter-in-law Tamar has played the harlot, and behold, she is also with child by harlotry.'  Then Judah said, 'Bring here out, and let her be burned!'

"It was while she was being brought out that she sent to her father-in-law, saying, 'I am with child by the man to whom these things belong.'  And she said, 'Please examine and see, whose signet ring and cords and staff are these?;

"And Judah recognised them, and said, 'She is more righteous than I, inasmuch as I did not give her to my son Shelah.'  And he did not have relations with her again."  Genesis 38:24-26

People use the Bible for lots of stuff...especially when it can be used to justify their behaviour or condemn another -- especially pre-believers.  But God never intended to have us judge one another - just think back to where this series began.

"I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot or your brides when they commit adultery, for the men themselves go apart with harlots and offer sacrifices with temple prostitutes; so the people without understanding are ruined." Hosea 4:14

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
