New Body Parts

“Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might.  Put on the full armour of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

“Therefore, take up the full armour of God, that you may be able to resist  in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one.  And take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-17

“On that day [Pentecost], not only did the disciples receive new life, which was nothing less than His life, but He received a new body.  He received new hands to work with:  their hands.  He received new feet to walk with:  their feet.  He received new lips to speak with:  their lips.  He received new hearts to love with:  their hearts.

“From then on, He would be the head and its life, but the physical means of His work being done would be through the lives and bodies of His children who were to be made available to Him for this purpose.”*

A great passage of Scripture to review at the beginning of the year.  Just LOOK at the pieces and the order in which you’re asked to put them on.  Could be a great focus for this weekend!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
