Attached for Mutual Benefit

“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the pwer of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.  Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). And raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus, in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:1-7

[If an arm is severed and then reattached] “When his arm was replaced, two things happened simultaneously.  The arm received the life of the body, and at the same time the body received the arm.  When the arm had been severed it was lifeless.

“As the arm was reattached to the body, the success of the operation was measured by the return of the life to the arm.  The life returned to the arm at the precise moment that the arm was returned to the body, for the life in the arm was the life of the body.”*

Just think of the illustration of a severed limb being reattached!  The limb is lifeless without the body and the body is benefitted by having the limb attached.  The wholeness and the health of the Body is symbiotic – a great secret and unique difference with being born again in Jesus Christ.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
