Contingency Plan?

“But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.  And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him, but some were doubtful.

“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:16-20

[In a modern fable, after Jesus returns to Heaven after His crucifixion, He speaks with the angels] “One of the angels is reported in the fable to have asked, ‘Now that you have returned to heaven, what are Your plans?’, to which Jesus is said to reply, ‘I have left just those eleven men behind to carry on the work’.

“Just eleven men!’ exclaimed an angel, ‘What happens if they fail?’  Jesus is said to reply, ‘If those eleven men fail, I have no other plans.’*

It’s vital for you to remember that He calls you to trust His plan.  This means relaxing into obedience that will fulfil the Great Commission.  I encourage you to look deeply at those last words of Jesus and see what He has in store for your walk from this moment.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
