Soul Food

“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.  But I said to you, that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe.  All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.  For I have come down from heaven not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

“’And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.  For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him, may have eternal life; and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.’”  John 6:35-40

“A love for the Lord Jesus Christ will always take you to His Word, so that through the written word, there might be a revelation of the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Himself.  I am extremely concerned about those who claim a working of the Holy Spirit that has cut into their appetite for the Bible.  It is suspect, because the work of the Spirit is to bring us even CLOSER to Christ, and therefore take us to His Word.”*

God loved us from the start of all time and from the start of our individual lives...He loved us so much He chose to find a way to bridge the gap between us and in our wilful choosing of sin over His will for us.  And more than that, He left inspired Scriptures and sent us the Holy Spirit to remind us moment-by-moment of Jesus’ plan for His world.

“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” Matthew 18-20

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
