Move Me Closer!

“’All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

“’Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.   Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.’” Matthew 11:27-30

“Jesus Christ begins to be seen as attractive.  He ceases to be detached and mystical, but becomes REAL.  It is the Holy Spirit who makes this happen.  When there is not a hunger for Christ, and a longing to know Him better and deeper, the Spirit of God is either absent or He is being quenched and grieved.  We have pointed out already that the Christian life is a relationship, not just an experience of feelings.  It is not just knowing WHAT we believe,”*

Amy Grant has this beautiful Christmas song, the chorus of which I often find buzzing around in my head:  “Move me closer.  Move me closer Lord.  Move me closer to the Cross.”  It is easy in the bustle and confusion of our everyday lives to focus more on the problems than on the hope we have within us because of God’s undying love!  The Holy Spirit at work in you is there to remind us, if and when we choose to listen.  Move me closer Lord!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
