Secret of His Will?

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

“Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.  I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the SECRET of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.  I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

“But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.  And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:8-9, 11-13, 18-19

“These four statements are the specific things the New Testament says about the will of God for us.   These apply to all of us, and there are NO exceptions!  To discover the particular will of God for our lives we must be living within the general framework of His will.  We must be holy people.  We must be thankful people.  We must be good people.  We must be prepared to suffer willingly.  It is within this framework that we discover the particular will of God for our lives, and also it is within this framework that our responsibility for ‘finding’ the will of God ceases!”*

The secret seems to be in trust and contentment.  But over the next few days we will learn even more on this important topic!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
