YouTube ‘Gospel of Mark – Chapter 12’
By Michael Whitenton (6 min 3 sec)
(NOTE: If
you would like to be challenged regarding
your attempts to memorise Scripture, you can find the
entire presentation of the book of Mark by clicking HERE.
It will take you one hour and 34 mins to hear all of it.)
“And He sat down opposite the treasury and began
observing how the people were putting money into the treasury; and many rich
people were putting in large sums. A
poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent.
“Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, ‘Truly I
say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the
treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her
poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.’” Mark 12:41-44
Assignment
1. Set
aside an hour and find a place where you will not be interrupted.
2. Bring
your Bible, notebook, something to write with and a refreshment.
3. Settle
in and pray that God will use this assignment in your life to help you read
Scripture closer.
4. Open
to a fresh page in your notebook, date the page and be ready to make notes.
5. Open
your Bible and read Mark 12:13-44 carefully.
6. Read
the passage again. This time underline,
circle verse numbers or make a note in your notebook of all the ‘seeming
puzzles’ the religious leaders and others posed to Jesus. (find at least three)
7. Note
how Jesus answered each one and consider how this was more puzzling to the
common beliefs of the people.
8. Review
your notes and pray thanking God for His beautiful Word and for what you have
learned today through it.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you daily)
