“Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter
the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated
for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,
“and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our
hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure
water.
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without
wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate
one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together,
as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you
see the day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:19-25
If you are a new believer, you will have many unexpected
challenges to living a new life as a Christian.
To build your strength:
1.
Make time to read your Bible daily (it is why
there are always Scriptural passages quoted in this devotion for you)
2.
Think of a bonfire.
A bonfire is made of lots of different sizes and types of
logs. Together they burn brightly. However, if you pull one of them out and set
it aside on the cold ground it will grow cold and eventually dwindle (the fire
remains inside).
The best way to ensure your ‘heart’ stays warm and grows
strong is to find a Bible-based church for nourishing fellowship. Be sure to check out their statement of faith
or beliefs to see if and how they emphasise the Bible in their fellowship.
Then make a visit to see if you feel welcome. Know that you may have to visit more than one
church to find your right ‘church home’.
This will be one of the most important things you will do for your
growth in Christ.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you daily)
