Righteous Witnesses

“A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin which he has committed, on the evidence of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed.  If a malicious witness rises up against a man to accuse him of wrongdoing, then other men who have dispute shall stand before the Lord before the priests and the judges who will be in office in those days.

“And the judges shall investigate thoroughly; and if the witness is a false witness and he has accused his brother falsely, then you shall do to him just as he had intended to do to this brother.  Thus, you shall purge the evil from among you.

And the rest will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such an evil thing among you.  Thus, you shall not show pity, life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”  Deuteronomy 19:15-21

“’And if your brother sins, go and reprove him in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.  But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed.  And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax-gatherer.

“’Truly I say to you, whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.   Again, I say to you, that if two of you may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.  For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.’” Matthew 18:15-20

Jesus taught more than once about the value of truth in what you say.  Today, more than ever, others look to find someone who is trustworthy with their words.  The world has a habit of distorting what is said to fit their current narrative.  It is important for us to remember, that as Jesus’ representatives on this earth, we have a choice to obey or not. Our words demonstrate the strength of our conviction.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)
