“’Honour your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you on the land which the Lord your God gives you.’” Deuteronomy 5:16

“For God said, ‘Honour your father and mother,’ and he who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death’.  But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God,’’ he is not to honour his father or his mother.

“’And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.  You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:  ‘This people honours Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me.  But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’’” Matthew 15:4-9

“And Jesus said, ‘You shall not commit murder; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honour your father and mother; and you shall love your neighbour as yourself.’” Matthew 19:19

“”You know the commandments, ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, honour father and mother.’’” Mark 10:19

“’You know the commandments, ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honour your father and mother.’’” Luke 18:20

Please watch the video and consider the message and how it should form your actions on a daily basis in the real world.  Jesus stressed basics that are being diluted, compromised or simply lost in out culture.  It is up to us to honour Christ as His light and salt.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)
