“In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth. And the earth was formless and
void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was
moving over the surface of the waters.
Then God said, ‘Let there be light’ and there was light.
And God saw that the light was good; and God separated
the light from the darkness. And God
called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning,
one day.” Genesis 1:1-5
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. He was in the
beginning with God. All things came into
being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into
being. In Him was life, and the life was
the light of men. And the light shines
in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1:1-5
The WeakEnd Assignment is to:
· Find an hour and a place where you will not be interrupted.
· Bring your Bible, your notebook, something to write with and a refreshment.
· Settle your heart and pray the Lord shows you new insights through His Word.
· Listen to the video above to set the stage.
· Date a page in your notebook and as you read, underline, highlight or write out verses that seem important for what our world is going through today.
· Open your Bible to II Timothy and read chapters 3 and 4 (or the entire book, if you can make time)
II Timothy is a letter from Paul that reveals a bit of him
personally. So many things in the world,
and in particular in his world, were difficult.
Paul points us all to the solution.
Take time to find it in his words to us and let it encourage your heart.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)

PRAYER REQUESTS (any updates?)
· URGENT – Unprecedented
Floods in New South Wales, Australia – Heavy
rains have pelted the state for the last 17 days resulting in unprecedented
floods. Many lives have been lost, so
much devastation remains. For today, the
rain has stopped, but is expected to start again tomorrow. Please pray for the families who have lost
loved ones, for all those who are losing their homes and all their possessions,
for those who are presently engaged in rescue, care and support of those
affected.
· URGENT - The horror

to save them and our world from the potential devastation of a third world war.
·
Simon and Tamara and
their children – Simon (my pastor) has been chosen to support the
Lord’s work in a new, more far-reaching way.
Help them prepare throughout this year for the new challenges that await
them. And when Simon takes up the new
role, let him fill it with the same grace, devotion and love he has
consistently demonstrated while at St. Marks.
Strengthen the congregation to rejoice with them and their decision.
·

Grant’s brother

and continues having a good relationship with the Lord.
