Cleave and Become One Flesh?’ by Real Truth. Real Quick.
“And some Pharisees came to Him, testing Him, and saying,
‘Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause at all?’ And He answered and said, ‘Have you not read,
that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and
said,
‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother
and shall cleave to his wife; and two shall become on flesh’? Consequently they are no longer two, but one
flesh. What therefore God has joined
together, let no man separate.’” Matthew 19:3-6
“And some Pharisees came up to Him, testing Him, and
began to question Him whether it was lawful for a man to divorce a wife. And He answered and said to them, ‘What did
Moses command you?’ And they said, ‘Moses
permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.’
“But Jesus said to them, ‘Because of your hardness of
heart he wrote you this commandment. But
from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father
and mother, and the two shall become one flesh, consequently they are no longer
two, but one flesh. What therefore God
has joined together, let no man separate.’” Mark 10:2-9
“Then the Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to
be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.’ And out of the ground the Lord God formed
every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man
to see what he would call them; and what ever the man called a living creature,
that was its name. And the man gave
names to all the cattle, and to all the birds of the sky, and to every beast of
the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him.
“So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the
man, and he slept; then He took one of his
ribs, and closed up the flesh at that place. And the Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the
man, and brought her to the man. And the
man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called
Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’
“For this cause a man shall leave his father and his
mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.’” Genesis
2:18-24
Jesus reminded those around Him that God ESTABLISHED an
order designed to bring good to His children and glory to Him, if they would
listen and obey His foundational words.
Problem was that people are tainted by the desires of sin and therefore ‘establish
wiggle room’ for doing what they think is right in their own eyes.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)
