[God speaking to Joshua] “’No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life.  Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.  Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

“’Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.

“’This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.’” Joshua 1:5-8

If you have ever wondered what Jesus’ life must have been like before we meet Him in Scriptures, you would not be alone.  Imagine His mom and dad teaching Him to talk.  Sharing a meal with Him at dinner time.  Or when Joseph would go to his workroom and Jesus would tag along.  Then every Shabbat off to the Temple.

His parents taught Jesus the Hebrew Scriptures consistently and constantly in all they did, quoting verses for Him to learn (they did not have books or scrolls at home).  And He hid God’s Word in His heart so He could always call on that strength in every day and extraordinary circumstances.

Although He quoted most often from the book of Psalms, He also quoted from many other books.  The second most often quoted book was the book of Deuteronomy followed by Isaiah, then Exodus and many other Old Testament books.  We will continue to look at them all.

Please keep in mind that the celebration of His resurrection is lurking around the corner.  It is time to remember what it took for Jesus to fulfil God’s promises for His children.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)

Pray for those in full-time service

Pray to uphold our Christian leaders – that they never compromise God’s Word, are bold and courageous in the face of evil.  Pray for their wisdom, safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.

Pray for those with ongoing health concerns

Many of us have family, friends and loved ones with fragile health.  Pray God takes special care with them and protects them in practical ways and that the Lord will have mercy on them during this challenging time.
