“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.  For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.  For by one Spirit we were all baptised into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves, or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

“For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I am not part of the body,’ it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.  And if the ear should say, ‘Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,’ it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.

“If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be?  If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smaller be?  But now God has placed the members, each of one of them, in the body, just as He desired.

“And if they were all one member, where would the body be?  But now there are many members, but one body.  And the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you’; or again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’

“On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; and those members of the body, which we deem less honourable, on these we bestow more abundant honour, and our unseemly members come to have more abundant seemliness, whereas our seemly members have no need of it.

“But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honour to that member which lacked, that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for another.  And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it."  I Corinthians 12:11-26

1.    Find an hour and place where you will not be interrupted.

2.    Have your Bible, notebook, something to write with and a refreshment.

3.    Settle in and pray the Lord will fill your heart with understanding and thanksgiving.

4.    Re-read the verses above and Psalm 139.

5.    Where do you see yourself in the ‘Body of Christ’?  Are you the big toes that give the ability to walk to another?  Are you an elbow that allows you to bend and hold heavy hearts in your prayers?

6.    Consider how carefully He has placed you and what this means to you as you walk with the Lord.

7.    Write out five strengths and five weaknesses that you know of in your life.

8.    Pray again and thank Him and ask Him to give you wisdom to use this awareness for your good and His glory in the weeks to come.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)

Pray for those in full-time service

Pray to uphold our Christian leaders – that they never compromise God’s Word, are bold and courageous in the face of evil.  Pray for their wisdom, safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.

Pray for those with ongoing health concerns

Many of us have family, friends and loved ones with fragile health.  Pray God takes special care with them and protects them in practical ways and that the Lord will have mercy on them during this challenging time.

Pray for the World
