[orchestral]:
St John’s Cambridge 1997 (Christopher Robinson)
“’And it shall come about when they say, ‘Why has the
Lord our God done all these things to us?
Then you shall say to them, ‘As you have forsaken Me and served foreign
gods in your land, so you shall serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
“Declare this in the house of Jacob and proclaim it in
the house of Jacob and proclaim it in Judah, saying, ‘Here this, O foolish and
senseless people, who have eyes, but see not; who have hears, but hear
not. Do you not fear Me?’ declares the
Lord. ‘Do you not tremble in My presence?
“’For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea,
and eternal decree, so it cannot cross over it, though the waves toss, yet they
cannot prevail; though they roar, yet they cannot cross over it. But this people has a stubborn and rebellious
heart; they have turned aside and departed.
“’They do not say in their heart, ‘Let us now fear the
Lord our God, who gives rain in its season, but the autumn rain and the spring
rain, who keeps for us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities have turned these away, and
your sins have withheld good from you.’” Jeremiah 5:20-25
Even though God used the prophets to speak to His chosen
people, they were never satisfied. They
ignored His words. They didn’t care to
understand how their behaviour was the reason behind a disaster. They just felt selfish and justified in their
anger and disobedience. The prophets continually
stressed God’s passion for His people.
How does it feel to be God?
Well of course we can’t even imagine, but we can understand the human
images stressed again and again by the prophets - God as ‘broken-hearted’
parent, and as ‘betrayed’ lover. So much
pain in God’s heart and yet ‘Greater love has no one that this, that one lay
down his life for his friends.’ (John 15:13). God had to re-establish the relationship even
though it must have hurt Him so much.
Take care, your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene (who
prays for you each morning).

USA President
Donald Trump – As Christians it
is our responsibility to pray for our leaders and know that God has a plan for
the USA through this man. If you doubt
the importance of his appointment, just look at the baseless antagonism against
him. Surely Satan is NOT happy and means to thwart God’s plan. Pray someone helps President Trump and Melania to understand the true meaning of a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pray they will both have an insatiable hunger to read God’s Word for
themselves. Pray God sends a
Bible-Believing Christian to regularly disciple them in the Truth. Pray God shuts the mouths of the false
prophets who regularly circle around them.

Pray for those in full-time service
During this time, when the entire world is struggling to
understand this new ‘plague’, it is critical for us to uphold our Christian
leaders. They will be needed
everywhere. Pray for their wisdom,
safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.
Pray for those with ongoing health concerns
Many of us have family, friends and loved ones who are fragile health wise. It is important to protect them in practical ways and most important we must pray even more for them that the Lord will have mercy on them during this challenging time.
