Big Daddy Weave - Overwhelmed [Official Music Video]

"And one of the criminals who was hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, 'Are You not the Christ?  Save Yourself and us!'

But the other answered, and rebuking him said, 'Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?  And we indeed justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.'  And he was saying, 'Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!'

"And He said to him, 'Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.'" Luke 23:39-43

"And two others also, who were criminals, were being led away to be put to death with Him.  And when they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.

"But Jesus was saying, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.'" Luke 23:32-34a

Hollywood has glorified the gore of the brutalisation and crucifixion of our marvellous Saviour...and I think it is used by Satan to distract us from forgiveness.  When we think more about how awful it was to be crucified, the crown of thorns, the indignities than we do about the purpose of what He went through then we have completely missed the point.

Jesus died to make us free; to "deputise" us to carry His message to the ends of the earth as well as the person right beside you.  Let's not get so distracted with the blood and guts sensationalism...let's thank our Saviour and get on with the work He has left for us.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene
