And The Diagnosis IS.....

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.  Let no man say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.

"But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.  Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished it brings forth death.  Do not be deceived my beloved brethren." James 1:12-16

"One of the benefits of facing the facts is that we are then released from a great deal of tension.  As Don Osgood notes in his book Pressure Points, 'It reduces stress to admit we're wrong.'[1]  While our external dilemma may remain, our internal state has definitely improved.  We know where we stand."[2]

I have a dear friend who has had headaches for years.  Oh, they aren't like the headaches most of us have, these are so massive and painful, he is unable to function.  He has had so many tests yet no one discovered what was wrong.  Lots of tests, medicines and treatments of various sorts were tried.

Then one day he went to yet one more specialist.  However, this one told him his headaches were actually mini-strokes and that they needed to take action immediately to treat the real problem.  Once he knew the cause, it was a relief.  He is still being treated, but knowing the truth has brought a great calm.

We do this too.  As the Lord works in our lives to help us discover the truth about why we are hurting and disappointed, we keep searching for answers.  The answer is ONLY found by turning to Him and admitting we are off the path.  And although the problems may not disappear, knowing the reason will bring peace to our hearts.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene (Please note the prayer updates, in red and if you have some updates, I need them!)
