"For
while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the
ungodly. For one will hardly die for a
righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to
die. But God demonstrates His own love
toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:6-8
"But
do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one
day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as
some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish
but for all to come to repentance." II
Peter 3:9
[Jesus teaching] "But love your enemies, and do good and lend, expecting nothing in
return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High;
for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. Be merciful, just as your Father is
merciful." Luke 6:35-36
"Can't we love like this?
"Not without God's help we
can't. Oh, we may succeed for a
time. We like Simon may open a
door. but our relationships need more
than a social gesture. Some of our
spouses need a foot washing. A few of
our friends need a flood of tears. Our
children need to be covered in the oil of our love."*
It is never healthy to go "sin
searching" (we have spiritual soap - I John 1:9) or "playing the
guilt game" (that is what grace is for - Ephesians 2:8-9), but we can look
back in wonder to see just how far we have come in the loving arms of our
Saviour Jesus Christ! Nothing else
matters so much as letting go and trusting our Father!
Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays
for you each morning, Darlene

His aged father, has just been diagnosed with prostrate cancer after years of trying to find out what was wrong in his body. We can sometimes imagine that the quality and the cost of health care is the same around the world, but it is not. Right now Isaias' father, Isaias and Judith need extra prayers. If you feel led you may even wish to support them through this time. To do so, just click here: Ambassadors for Christ and look for Isaias Catorce.
