"'And you shall remember all the way which the
Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might
humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep
His commandments or not.
"'And He humbled you and let you be hungry, and
fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He
might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives
by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.'" Deuteronomy 8:2-3
"'The God who made the world and all things in
it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with
hands; neither is He served by human hands as though He needed anything, since
he Himself gives to all life and breath and all things;'" Acts 17:25
"We must depend upon
God to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. We must, to the same degree, depend on Him to
enable us to do what we must do for ourselves. -- In every respect, we are
utterly dependent upon God.
"There are times when
we can do nothing, and there are times when we must work. In both instances, we are equally dependent
upon God."*
Sometimes we seem to be
doing "alright" and His interaction and actions in our lives seem to
be far away. There are other times when
we can dramatically see how dependent and blessed we are to have eyes to see
His wonder working around and through us.
Take care with love,
especially His! Your servant and friend
in Christ, Darlene
