“And not only this, but we also
exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
and perseverance proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does
not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts
through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
“For while we were still
helpless at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man’
though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:3-8
“It
is this failure to believe, failure to let Him work, which is the essence of
sin. When we are acting in independence
of God, rather than in dependence upon God, even though the activity itself may
be good and legitimate, we are actually committing sin!”*
Tomorrow
we will look at what truly pleases God.
For today, consider the difference between believing in Christ as a
chair -- and how looking at the chair, describing the chair, admiring the
chair, worshiping the chair, telling others about the chair -- is worlds
different from simply sitting in the Chair!
Take
care with love, especially His! Your
servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
