Lean on Me

“The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God.  Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.” Romans 14:23

“’But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.  And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer behold Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

“’I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, He will disclose to you what is to come.  He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you.’” John 16:7-14

“Living by faith is the basis upon which every Christian is called to live, because the only alternative to living in dependence upon God is to be acting in independence of God.  It is the attitude of independence that is the essence of sin.  ‘Sin’ is all that which does not derive from belief in Jesus Christ.”*

Some of us learn early on not to lean on anyone and then along comes Jesus and He saves us and says “lean on Me” and until you do chaos reigns around us.

“’Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart’ and you shall find rest for your souls.’” Matthew 11:28-29

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
