No Wonder!

“But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.  And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some were doubtful.  And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18-20

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.”  I Corinthians 10:13

“The character of God in all its beauty, kindness and tenderness would be visible in the life and conduct of those created to BE His ‘image’.  Man, not just by what he says, but by what he IS, was designed to be a revelation of God.  However, things have very clearly gone wrong!  Where you and I to arrive on the earth today as complete strangers, knowing nothing about the earth other than the fact that God had placed a creature called ‘man’ who had been made in the image of God, we would receive a most unpleasant shock!

[what we would see is]  “God is greedy, we would conclude.  He is often full of  hatred, envy and jealousy.  He sometimes rapes, kills, steals and fights.  He is proud, often racially prejudiced and His first concern seems to be always and only Himself.  But why?  Why such a distorted picture?”*

We are to increasingly grow into the image of Christ, that His reflection shines through us to others who have not yet found Him!  No wonder people turn away from their faith...where are the examples?

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
