Three Things (Assignment)

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.  John bore witness of Him, and cried out, saying, ‘This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rang than I, for He existed before me.’  For of His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.”  John 1:12-16

“Up until this time Christ was to me, only the ‘patron’ of my Christianity, rather than its life.  It was in His name that we were to life, but not in His strength.  I thought of myself as having received certain ‘things’ from Christ that had enabled me to become a Christian and were my provision for trying to live the Christian life.  Basically there were three things:  a ticket, a certificate and a catalogue.”*

We haven’t had an assignment for awhile, so I would like you to think of what these three things can be:  ticket, certificate and catalogue.  As we progress it will be apparent these three are common to most Christians when they are new.

Have a wonderful and thought-filled weekend.  And please, if any of you have updates on prayer requests, it would be a blessing to know how the prayers are progressing.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
