His Secret for Us

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:1-2

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus as the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.” Colossians 2:6-7

“This is the essence of all Christian activity and life. – I knew Christ was the ‘author’ for He had enabled me to become a Christian, but I did not know He was the ‘perfector’ or as other versions have it, ‘the finisher’ of our faith.  Having allowed Him to begin, I thought it was my job to finish!*

If we set our eyes on Christ, then the chaos surrounding us is out of focus, and that helps us know where to place our next sure step.  He manages the chaos, if we will only chose to follow Him moment-by-moment.  Now that IS a great secret!

The answer is simple; getting self off the throne is the hard part!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
