Needed Contrasts

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth; and the earth was formless and void, and darkness as over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’ and there was light. And saw that the light was good; and God separated the light fro the darkness. And God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.” Genesis 1:1-5

Annie Dillard, an author, once said, “You do not have to sit outside in the dark. If, however, you want to look at the stars, you will find that darkness is required. The stars neither require it nor demand it.” Makes you think how God works contrasts in our lives.

“No temptation that has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way to escape also, that you may be able to endure it.” I Corinthians 10:13
