Some Doubted !

“’He is not here, for He has risen just as He said. Come, see the place where He was laying. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going before you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.’ But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. And when they SAW Him, they worshiped him; but some were doubtful. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:6-7, 16-20

At a Navigator conference, my spiritual leader, Don Lanier, gave the most moving message I have ever heard and it was a call to all of us who were Christ’s followers to do what we could, were we were, when we could and with what we had instead of putting things off until we were “more ready to meet the challenges we faced.” He ended by speaking one phrase three times and I can still hear his voice booming out: “And some doubted. And SOME doubted. And some DOUBTED !!” The book Disappointment is a bout about faith, but it looks at faith through the eyes of those who doubt. The truth is...we all doubt sometimes.

Take care to understand His Word. Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
