Rock Water & Doubt

“When Israel when forth from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became His sanctuary, Israel, His dominion. The sea looked and fled; the Jordan turned back. The mountains skipped like rams, the hills, like lambs. What ails you, O sea, that you flee? Or Jordan, that you turn back? O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs? Tremble, O earth, before the Lord, before the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.” Psalm 114

In this short Psalm we see two amazing miracles around water: the parting of the Red Sea and when Moses struck a rock and water gushed out to satisfy God’s grumbling people. Both acts were impossible. Both acts saved the lives of God’s people. Both acts demonstrated God’s power and care for His children. Yet we sometimes wonder IF He is able or if He is willing or if He actually cares. He cares more than we can ever appreciate and is willing and able. We just need to call to Him.

“But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him, but some were doubtful. “ Matthew 28:16-17
