“How blessed is he who considers the helpless; the Lord will deliver him in a day of trouble. The Lord will protect him and keep him alive, and he shall be called blessed upon the earth; and do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.
"The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed;
in his illness, You restore him to health.
“As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and You set me
in Your presence forever. Blessed be the
Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.” Psalm 41:1-3, 12-13
Assignment
1. Set
aside an hour and find a place where you will not be interrupted.
2. Have
your Bible, notebook, something to write with and a refreshment.
3. Settle
in and pray that the Lord will give you sweet insights through this assignment.
4. Open
your notebook to a fresh page and date it.
5. Watch
the video above and take notes of what you wish to remember, including the
Scripture references.
6. Settle
your heart again and consider those you love or know who are ill or injured at
this time. Write their names in your
notebook.
NOTE: If you
cannot think of anyone, look through the prayer list in this devotion and
select someone on that list to pray for.
7. Pray
specifically and earnestly for the restoration of their health -- or that the
Lord will use this time of suffering to strengthen them and bring them closer
to Him.
Finally, during this next week, find a way to contact those
you have listed (email, text, a lovely card, phone, social media) to encourage
them and update your understanding of their situation. Let them know you are adding them to your
personal prayer list and will pray for them each day.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you daily)
