By Branch Together
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses
surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so
easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before
us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the
joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at
the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-3
There are times when each of us feels alone, insignificant,
almost invisible. It is at these times
that it is important to remember Hebrews 12:1-3. It assures us that, like those listed in
Hebrews 11, the Lord Jesus Christ and His host of angels watches over us with
love and care.
Assignment
1. Set
aside an hour and find a place where you will not be interrupted.
2. Bring
with you your Bible, notebook, something to write with and a refreshment.
3. Settle
in and pray the Lord will help you learn new lessons from what you read.
4. Find
a fresh page in your notebook and date it for today.
5. Read
chapter 11 of Hebrews, listing each of the individuals mentioned in the chapter
and why you believe they were listed (by what is written in the text or by what
you remember of the characters).
6. List
or circle the verse numbers where you find promises and note any accompanying
conditions.
7. Consider
the impact of Hebrews 12:1-3 on your life.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you daily)
