By World Video Bible School (WVBS) (3min 46 sec)
[God speaking with Moses] “’Go, say to them, ‘Return to
your tents.’ But as for you, stand here
by Me, that I may speak to you all the commandments and the statutes and the
judgments which you shall teach them, that they may observe them in the land
which I give them to possess.’
“’So you shall observe to do just as the Lord your God
has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right or to the left. You shall walk in all the way which the Lord
your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you,
and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.
“’Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the
judgments which the Lord your God has commanded me to teach you, that you might
do them in the land where you are going over to possess it, so that you and
your son and your grandson might fear the Lord your God, to keep all His
statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life,
and that your days may be prolonged.
“’O Israel, you should listen and be careful to do it,
that it may be well with you and that you may multiply greatly, just as the
Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in the land flowing with milk
and honey.’” Deuteronomy 6:1-3
Deuteronomy is one of those books you can sort of skim
through because of all the repetition, but we are all learning that when God
repeats something in His Word, it is for a reason, and usually because it is
something easy to forget. Like how it is
better to obey God over indulging our own ideas and whims.
When we believe in our hearts the Truth of Scripture: that Jesus came, lived, died and rose again He
paid the full and complete price for our sin.
Our sin and these commandments were nailed to His Cross, so that we can
be free from the comfort of legalism.
God’s loving, saving grace ensures His children can do
nothing to make Him love us more and nothing to make Him love us less. God plans our days His way for our good and
His glory and it is as true as it is easy to forget sometimes.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you daily)
