[Jesus teaching] “’For God so greatly loved and dearly
prized the world, that He even gave His One and only begotten Son, so that
whoever believes and trusts in Him as Saviour shall not perish but have eternal
life. For God did not send the Son into
the world to judge and condemn the world that is, to initiate the final
judgment of the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
“’Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him as
personal Saviour and Lord is not judged.
For this one, there is no judgment, no rejection, no condemnation; but
the one who does not believe and has decided to reject Him as personal Saviour
and Lord is judged already –
“’that one has been convicted and sentenced -- because he
has not believed and trusted in the name of the One and only begotten Son of
God, the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone
can save him.’” John 3:16-18
A wife began to pray for her alcoholic husband, that God would take away his desire to drink. She prayed for so many years that she often wondered if God had another plan. Yet, she persisted in her petition. One evening he left the house to go to the liquor store and buy his weekly supply.
When he returned, he only had a bottle of tomato juice. And there began his journey to his knees. However, the man had not given his life to
Christ. When his wife asked why, the man
answered, ‘I want to make my life better before I ask to become a Christian.’
The wife was given enough wisdom and love to ask her
husband, ‘Do you think you can do a better job of cleaning up your life that
Christ can? After all, that is just what
He wants to do for you.’
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)
