by Branch Together
“’My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, and from
the words of My groaning? O My God, I
call out by day, but You do not answer; and by night, but I find no rest nor
quiet. But You are holy, O You who are
enthroned in the holy place where the praises of Israel are offered.
“… ‘They open wide their mouths against Me, like a ravening
and a roaring lion. I am poured out like
water, and all My bones are out of joint.
My heart is like wax’ it is melted by anguish within Me. My strength is dried up like a fragment of
clay pottery; and My dry tongue clings to My jaws; and You have laid Me in the
dust of death.
“’For a pack of dogs have surrounded Me; a gang of evildoers
has encircled Me, they pierce My hands and My feet. I can count all My bones; they look, they
stare at Me. They divide My clothing
among them and cast lots for My garment.” Psalm 22:1-3, 13-18
Sometimes Scripture is so much it can overwhelm. I am always reluctant to speak and share my
thoughts, because there is nothing more perfect than His Word. It is my prayer that in this (and the next to
the last) chapter of Mark, God will show you something new that you can apply
to your walk and understanding and with others.
For the assignment, find an hour and a place where you will
not be interrupted and can listen to the video recording above. Have your Bible, notebook, something to write
with and a refreshment.
Turn in your Bible to Mark 15 and take notes of what seems important for you as you follow along. He reads from the New English Translation,
but use whatever version you prefer. As
you listen to the words of Mark 15, consider Christ.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)
