Death Was Arrested - (Official Lyric Video)

“Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; and old things passed away; behold new things have come.  Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”  II Corinthians 5:17-21

Is God reconciled to men or are men reconciled to God?  The word ‘reconcile’ reflects an exchange.  When we trust in Christ, we make an exchange – our sin for His righteousness.

Our sin was poured into Christ at His crucifixion, His righteousness is poured into us at our conversion.  This is what atonement for sin is about.  Today we trade or barter – exchanging goods or relative equal value.

Jesus death offers to trade His righteousness for our sin -- something of immeasurable worth for something completely worthless.  That is neat and the key to our completely NEW life in Jesus Christ!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning.  Darlene
