The Inward Trinity

"Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, such as immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, magic arts, animosities, strife, jealousy, bad temper, outbreaks of selfishness,

"dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousings and everything of the kind, of which I warn you as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

"But the Spirit's fruit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, generosity, fidelity, gentleness, self-control.  There is no law against these." Galatians 5:19-23 The Holy Bible, Revised Berkeley Version in Modern English[1]

"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the Gospel from the first day until now.  For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6

"So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with [reverent] fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." Philippians 2:13

There is a priority with the fruit of the Spirit that is similar to our challenge toward authentic Christian living.  God first, others second, self, third.

This third trinity of the fruit of the Spirit is inward.  The Holy Spirit works in us that He might work through us.  "Being" is far more important than "doing".  It is the cultivation of inward fruit that produces fruit that others can enjoy in us.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene
