Jesus is no fool

"Let love be without hypocrisy.  Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in honour; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality." Romans 12:9-13

"Don't cherish exaggerated ideas of yourself or your importance, but try to have a sane estimate of your capabilities by the light of the faith that God has given to you." Romans 12:3 (Phillips)

[Jesus teaching] "'Blessed are those slaves whom the master shall find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them.'" Luke 12:37

"To consider others better than yourself, then, is not to say you have no place; it is to say that you know your place. -- The humble heart honours others."*

Jesus saw you.  Jesus loved you.  Jesus died for you.  Jesus is no fool.  When we pretend we are unworthy; when we are not gracious or fail to recognise and acknowledge the beauty and gifted-ness of our lives, we are denying the wisdom of the Lord.  False humility is simply egocentricity, meant to focus everyone around you on ... you.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene

PS:  I left something special for you here:  Whispers
