Trust or Obey?

"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing out eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of faith; who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

"For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.  You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;" Hebrews 12:1-4

"The moral will of God given to us in the Bible is rational and reasonable.  The circumstances in which we must trust God often appear irrational and inexplicable.  The law of God is readily recognised to be good for us, even when we don't want to obey it.

The circumstances of our lives frequently appear to be dreadful and grim or perhaps even calamitous and tragic.  Obeying God is worked out within well-defined boundaries of God's revealed will.

"Trusting God is worked out in an area that has no boundaries.  We do not know the extent, the duration, or the frequency of the painful, adverse circumstances in which we must frequently trust God.  We are ALWAYS coping with the unknown." *

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
