"And
Jesus said to His disciples, 'Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to
enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I
say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for
a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.'"
Matthew 19:23-24
"'Woe
to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier
provisions of the law: justice and mercy
and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without
neglecting the others.
"'You
blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! Woe to you scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you clean the outside of
the cup and the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and
self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee,
first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it
may be come clean also.'" Matthew 23:23-25
Micah
is a book devoted to a prophet burdened by the abusive treatment of the poor by
the rich and influential. These people,
in this day, used their social or political power for personal gain.
Enjoy
the weekend and if you get a chance to read through Micah it may bless your
heart through this journey we take together.
Take
care with love, especially His! Your
servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
