God vs. Life!

“Where can I go from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold Thou art there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Thy hand will lead me, and Thy Right hand will lay hold of me.

“If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night,’ even the darkness is not dark to Thee, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to Thee.

“For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. My frame was not hidden from Thee, when I was made in secret, and skilfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Thy book they were all written. The days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” Psalm 139:7-13, 15-16

“Dr. Paul Brand’s answer to the question, Where is God when it hurts? ‘He is in you, the one hurting, not in it, the thing that hurts.’”

Douglas continues from yesterday: ‘If we develop a relationship with God apart from our life circumstances, then we are able to hang on when the physical reality breaks down. We can learn to trust God DESPITE all the fairness of life.
God’s guarantees of physical success – health, prosperity, and military victory – did nothing to help the Israelites’ spiritual performance.

It comes down to trusting that He is the God he is. Enjoy the weekend friends.

Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene

PS: ANY PRAYER UPDATES TODAY?

For any of you who wonder if prayer is worth taking time for, you might just page back through previous prayer requests and see the hand of our loving Father in action! Also for any of you who noticed my absence last week, I had a few challenges that kept me from here. Thank you for your extra prayers.

NEW PRAYER REQUEST: For Cris, who is struggling with things no one but the Father understands perfectly, that she will reach out for help from others here.
