Even NOW? !!!

“And one of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognising that He had answered them well, asked Him, ‘What commandment is the foremost of all?’

“Jesus answered, ‘The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord, and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’

“’The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.’” Mark 12:28-31

“’To be commanded to love God at all, let alone in the wilderness, is like being commanded to be well when we are sick, to sing for joy while we are dying with thirst, to run when our legs are broken. But this is the first and great commandment nonetheless. Even in the wilderness – ESPECIALLY in the wilderness – you shall love Him.’” *

I have never met anyone without a “wilderness” experience...a time of extraordinary growth from either a physical or emotional challenge in their life. I just keep coming back to the concept that we can’t confuse life with God.

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (complete, perfect payment) for our sins.” I John 4:10

Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
