Without Hope

“Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance, and perseverance, proven character, and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless [and hopeless], at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God DMENOSTRATES His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ DIED for us.” Romans 5:1-8

“Does any human emotion run as deep as hope? – [Fairy tale] does not deny the existence of... sorrow and failure; the possibility of these is necessary to the joy of the deliverance: it denies (in the face of much evidence, if you will) universal final defeat... giving a fleeting glimpse of Joy, Joy beyond the walls of the world, poignant as grief.’ No summary of the prophets would be complete apart from one last message: their loud insistence that the world will not end in ‘universal final defeat’, but in Joy. But always in every one of their seventeen books, the prophets of the Old Testament got round to a word of hope.” *

His love and hope in our hearts is what He cultivates in the unique, personal relationship He has with each of us until we “see” Him and turn to Him! Without THIS, there would be no HOPE.

Take care to understand His Word. Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
